skeletal system supports the body, protects internal organs, provides for movement, stores mineral reserves, provides a site
for blood cell formation. Some of the bones in the human skeleton system are vital to protecting internal organs. The skull protects the brain, and the ribs protect the heart and lungs.
There are 206 bones in an adult skeleton but babies are born with more bones than an adult and they fuse together later
on. New blood cells are made in the bone marrow.There are two parts to a skeleton the axial skeleton and the appendicular
skeleton.
